Raising Refounders Delaware

Delaware is the second smallest state in the Union, with only 1,954 square miles of area.  However, it is a quite populous state fot its size, with more than 830,000 people.  Probably the least known fact among non-Delawareans is that Delaware was actually the first state to be admitted after the Revolution.  This took place on December 7, 1787.  The capital city is Dover, which is located a little less than half-way down the length of the state. The principle body of water is the Delaware Bay.

Delaware is also known for its agricultural economy where broiler chickens and fishing are popular industries.

If you know a little bit about American history you might recall that on Christmas day 1776 George Washington made a brave decision to attack the awaiting Hessian soldiers on the opposite bank of the Delaware River in Trenton, NJ during the American Revolution.  Washington was successful in his stealth attack, and ended up defeating those foreign troops that night.
